Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya is the oldest college in the sub-division of Tufanganj under the district of Cooch Behar. It was established in 1971 in a Placid and serene atmosphere at Andaranfulbarim in the subdivision of Tufanganj only 11.5 kilometers away from Indo-Bangladesh border. The area is thickly populated by the people belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, minority and other backward classes and surrounded on all three sides by Assam and Bangladesh. Most of the learners are first generation learners and belong mostly to the poor, agrarian community, socially backward and economically subdued.
